Dean Wydeven

Artisan for Solstice Gardenscapes LLC

Dean Wydeven is an emerging artist based in the Fox Valley who uses sculpture to explore texture, ornament, and pattern in cement, steel and mixed media. He also uses digital photography to find the color, line, and pattern. There is an organic sense of time that is ever-apparent in his work, whether that be in the decay of architectural history or the emergent birth of a new garden bloom.

Dean is a University of Wisconsin Green Bay graduate who recently retired from a 28-year long career as a designer/animator/inventor for Kimberly-Clark Corporation where he was awarded numerous design patents and invention disclosures.

In his first year of retirement Dean decided to focus his creative talents on fine art and built an art studio, where he now works. His work soon resulted in a piece featured in the Annual Secura Fine Arts Juried exhibition at the Trout Museum in Appleton, followed by a massive collaborative public art installation at the Community First Champion Center in Grand Chute.
